An easy way clear the float needle/seat, if it is not completly fouled, is remove the drain screw (3mm hex, right side, bottom of the fuel bowl), and crank the bike; it will pump fuel through the petcock in pulses if you are still using the vaccum petcock. DO NOT LOOK AT THE DRAIN HOLE while you crank the bike as you might get an eye full. Some bikes squirt fuel further than others. Catch the fuel on a clean white rag if you have one; allows you to see the grit or grasshopper parts. If you see 'bubbles' on the white cloth, that is usually indicitive of water in the fuel bowl that you just blew out. It will only be there momentarily, and then quickly absorbed by the cloth. revmaaatin. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

ims fuel tank
Tangential . but my mother taught me how to share. After I installed my IMS tank funny things started happening. A few miles after I started out, the motor would shut down. I would pull over, inspect and ponder and try the starter button; the bike would fire right up. I would travel some distance and the sequence would repeat. I finally figured it out. You heard of butt dialing a cell phone. Well I was butt stalling my motorcycle. In setting up the tank I ran the vent tube from the cap to under the front of the seat and then down, in front of the shock, where it joined other tubes. I positioned it in such a way that, after a while, my weight would crimp the tube and prevent it from venting. When I got off to inspect, the tube would open up and I then could start the bike. I moved it into a better location and all has been well.
