Can any one give me the low down on the Cobra exhaust, I'm not familiar with them and I found one for sale used and wanted to know if they are a good or not. Are they loud, built good?? etc.. Here is the description; "has a conical piece that angles up from the stock header pipe(not included)and clamps onto an aluminum can(silencer),then there is a turned down tailpipe that's held into the silencer with a big circlip. Sounds like this is the ISDE model Cobra. It is a quieter version but is still loud and pretty restrictive. The biggest problem with the Cobra is that they have a very short lifespan. Most all will fall apart in a year or so but the good news is that Cobra has been replacing these pipes under warranty. I think for a little more money you would be better off with a Supertrapp IDS. Fred, When I purchased my KLX (had 1700 miles on it) it came with the IDS muffler. Seems that it is slightly louder now than when I bought it. Does this thing need to be repacked? Never had experience with Supertrapp products before this bike. Thanks for any info. Marshall in Ok '95 KLXC3

The "Tweeting" is starting to get to me, some kinda of lighter exhaust canister might be the ticket. I see that Two Bros Racing has a slip-on aluminum canister in a round shape and an oval shape for the KLR. Has anyone had any experiance with this system ? BC Mans
