Increased construction in your area might have something to do with it? It is amazing the number of flats I got after I roofed my house once and carrying all the old shingles off in my pickup truck. There is a lot of construction going on around here. I try and steer clear of pickups hauling trash and the shoulder of the road. I have spotted a number of wood screws and nails pulling out of gas stations and convenience stores in the trash at the side of the road.

2nd flat in two weeks
Sometimes the way tires interact with sharp objects is downright weird. I still remember the exact time and place when I looked down at my rear tire and eyeballed a large screw head close to the middle of the tread. I was a hot day in Alamogordo NM. I pulled out the screw and was surprised to find the screw was more than an inch long. It was not sitting in the tire at an angle but was longed straight in. The surprising thing was that the tube lost no air. I had no idea how long I was riding like that. I guess it makes no sense to question the fates especially if the ladies act in your favor.

The Lubeman seemed like a great idea until I figured out that an oiler that allowed you to lubricate your chain every fifty, or even every ten miles was really no more effective than spraying your chain at every gas stop. The only way to lubricate the rollers and wearing surfaces of the sprockets effectively is with a continuous-flow oiler like a Scottoiler
