I have two KLRs, but they both run Kenda K270's. I go pretty gonzo
off-road and they perform great; hill climbs, water crossings, rocky
trails etc. I also regularly commute to work at speeds of 80-105 mph
indicated with no problems. Had a speed record of 110 for a two mile
stretch last week. They corner well for me too and I take most turns
at intersections in third gear with a 16T front sprocket. However,
if I'm loaded up with luggage, they get a tiny bit squirrely above
95mph, but no worse than the ol' high front fender-wind-related
squirreliness that some folks experience.
Other positives:
Very inexpensive.
They wear evenly as a set.
They last for about 5,000-6,500 miles depending on your riding.
A set costs less than a front tire of most other brands (~$70).
Very easy to mount; a medicated psychopath in a straight-jacket could
probably mount them.
Oh, and did I mention that they're dirt cheap?
