Check out http://www.bigcee.com/klr650faq.html
Oh, and there is already a 'MarkB' on the list who lives in CA. Just a heads
up in case mail for the other Mark B gets sent to you in error.

You got the idea - and thanks Mark Baxter. If you ride hard and accurately,
you will probably like the other MarkB. He is a good, moral and very PROMPT
KLR rider. Try him in the rocks at Death Valley some time if you want a
workout. We have had several more-than-minor rides together, so please
understand my initial reply and protective nature.
It is up to MarkB to contact you, so hang in there, and welcome to KLR
world.

Greetings Mike,
I have read that web site and it was quite helpful. Thanks also for the
heads
up on the other Mark B. Maybe I'll use my full name from now on.

Hi there. I am new to the group and am trying to soak up as much
information as I can about the KLR650. I currently own a 1200
Sportster, but am not getting all that much enjoyment out of it. I
plan to sell it and get a Dual Sport for next spring. I used to have
an older Honda NX650 (Dominator) and am trying to decide what to get
this time. The KLR650 seems to fit most of my wants. I am also
considering the Honda 650L. Can any of you please give me your
thoughts, opinions, or whatever about the two. Obviously since this is
a KLR group, I know you will all probably not recommend the Honda.
Other than my present Sportster, every off road bike or ATV I've owned
has been a Honda (plus current auto's), so I am just looking for
reassurement I guess in buying a Kawasaki.
Thanks in advance for your comments,
Matt B.

G'day everyone,
My name is Glenn and I live in Australia. I have a 2002 KLR650C (C8) which is the European model. This model seems to have been imported to Australia over many years and there are many still seen on the road.
I have had my bike for 2 years and I have made many of the recommended mods to it. It is a great all rounder and I ride it most days.
I just discovered this group yesterday and must say that it has the largest number of KLR enthusiasts that I have found on the net.
I look forward to sharing with everyone the wonderful experience of owning a unique and serviceable machine.
Cheers
Glenn

Welcome Glen. Where about in OZ? What I have seen, you live in a great
place for a KLR.

Welcome. I haven't been to Australia (yet) but have been close. I went to New Zealand in 1990. Quantas is now flying direct from the Dallas area where I live but don't know if I can do 16 hours in coach (heh). I have done about 14 hours on a KLR though.
