Well, Jay, kinds of depends on where you are at. If you were local to the Silicon Valley, San Jose, I might make an offer, but seeing as I do not know where you are located, your bike isn't worth anything to me. I have a picture of my 2000 KLR-650 in the photo section. It is photo #69. I am in the Houston area. I am firm on $3500.00. It has 7200 miles. It has been well maintained, and garage kept. It has the following added. Tall windshield,16 tooth front sprockt, lowering kit, shorter side stand, skid plate, master cyl. gaurd,K&N air filter, throttle lock, dunlop 604D 80/20 rear tire. A cleaner 2000 KLR you won't find.

Got some bad news. After all the money, time, and effort I have put into my KLR it looks like I will have to sell it. I bought it without a title, and didnt think it would be so hard to get a duplicate. I sent the forms to Albany, and this weekend I got a letter saying that the vehicle is not titled in new york state. This means that there is no way for me to get the thing registered and legal, so I have to sell it. I do not want to be arrested or caught and accused of stealing the thing. This groups been a lot help, thanks. Dave

Dave, unless you know that the bike is stolen or something, don't give up so easily. I have a buddy who sells cars, and buys some to make into hot-rods. Anyhoo, there's a process whereas you can get a "bonded title" that will allow you to license the bike, but you won't get a clear title for something like 3 years. It's worth a shot to ask a used-car dealer in your area about them. It might take a little effort, but I think that if nothing else you would recoup the cost in selling it as it should be worth more if it were titled, don't you think? Just IMHO, of course.. MNRon

First of all, you can get a title for it with enough effort. Second, Details please. I'm sort of always looking. Dan /|\..

Somebody gave me a 1970 Honda CB750 that had a lost title. I sent a registered letter to the previous owner who last had the bike registered with DMV ( DMV gave me the address if I recall). When the letter came back undeliverable I had all the proof I needed that I had tried to contact the owner and I then was able to obtain a title. Then I sold the bike. Just my 2 eurocents worth, might not apply to you but I'd investigate further.
