To save anybody else from having to load ebay to see what it is:
"1999 Kawasaki KLR650 used OME parts, a pair of hand guard, they are
a little scratched, shock booths they are the original that came with
bike, I changed them for a different color, & skid plate is the
original, its also scratched, but not broken. I'm selling all three
items as a package. "
I have a extra plastic rain guard or errrmm Bash Plate also if
somebody wants it send me enuff to cover postage and you can have it,
currently the one I got hanging is missing the little collared washer
things, but will be ordering a Aluminum type here real soon.

Well, I just fired up the KLR for the first time since Saturday morning....I pulled the Stator coil assembly and the excitor was reading 178K ohms....It's supposed to read between 100-200 Ohms.....I thought it may be a bad solder joint so I left the ohmmeter connected and cleaned the solder connections and tried to resolder it...No Change.....Last year I picked up a spare Stator off E-bay and swapped it out and she fired right up.....I'm back on the road....Has anyone ever heard of the excitor coils going bad like that ???? I'm still wondering what caused it to go bad in the first place ...

The other thing to check is the fit of the spark plug cap into the plug wire. I d cut off about an 1/8 of an inch of plug wire and would rethread the plug cap into the newly clipped plug wire. The plug cap connection into the plug wire looks like a wood screw. So you have to screw the plug cap clockwise into the plug wire.

When this happened to me the culprit was the kill switch. I d cycle it from run to the two stop positions and would blow compressed air into the (unsealed!) switch.

I did some troubleshooting and had fuel but NO SPARK.....being prepared with spare parts i replaced the coil and CDI unit and still NO SPARK !!!! All the wire had good connections and continuity.
