Greg, Welcome aboard! You bought the right bike for Utah. I'm sure you'll have a great time on the back roads and byways. The KLR is made to travel, camp, and explore. I can't think of a better place to live for a dual-sporter. Except maybe California, where I can ride year round :) __Arden

Hi everyone, just bought an 06 kLR last thursday. Its the red headed step child color. Sorry, just never have been a fan of green. My insurance agent got a kick out of how cheap the insurance was for the year (me too). I'm just going to ride it for a while before any upgrades but one of the first things will have to be the progressive front springs. The bike is great so far except for a misalignment of the fairing that annoys me a little. Nice day to ride!!

Wise. Still, the magnetic drain plug is worth getting right away. Since the doohickey spring is a common failure, it is best to put something in that will help to contain it. -- Doug Herr doug@...

Welcome aboard Marshall. You're just what this lawless group needs. A Marshall. You can arrest all the engine and chain oil dissidents. Do you have a a history of motorcycling or is this your first ride? The KLR is a fun bike and a workhorse too. Kind of like a high speed John Deere. The lime green ones actually look a little John Deere-.ish Mine is lime green. I get a lot of waves from the farmers. Not the daughters though. This an excellent group with some very knowledgeable listers - of which, one I cannot claim to be. I have gained a great deal of information from the participants. Oh, by the way, are you aware that you must be ordained by Revmaatin before the dispensation of any critical information? You'll be hearing from him soon.
