I added one recently (same pad, but branded "Stearns") and found it at a WalMart which insisted they had none in stock and did not seem to know what I was talking about. They had a huge pile of them. I rode 6 hours yesterday, maybe a record for me, and it made a huge difference. It *is* slipperier that the stock seat, which is a bit of an issue for me since my raising links elevate the rear of the bike some. Even heavy engine braking sends me sliding towards the tank. It adds a bit to seat height, so if someone has stubby legs and is already stretching to touch, that may be an issue.

I bought two just in case they quit selling them, or mine breaks while they dont stock them. Its not slick at all though. The people at these kind of store dont know what they are selling so I never bother asking. Just look in the motorcycle/atv section depending on what time of year it is. When they have the ATV stuff out, its for sale. When the motorcycle stuff is for sale, its not. Check the various clearance sections at that time. I have a couple of spares lying around. They last about 2 years at my level of use; riding every day and sitting outside in the California sunshine. Pretty good value for 20 bucks. They completely eliminate the tailbone "hotspot" I used to get on long rides. Now I just shift around a bit while riding and I can do 12 hours in the saddle without any serious distress. Long Distance riding tip: DO NOT wear cotton underwear on long rides. Go buy a pair of bicycle shorts, they cut WAY down on the monkey-butt.

It was actually 392, and when I mentioned to my wife at 11pm in the dooryard "You know honey, if we do the loop next town over we can round this up to 400 even." She swore at me. Boulder, There is a flat washer looking round ring piece with square tabs in the wheel sending gear housing. I'd check that first and make sure it and the tabs are flat and oriented correctly. Think of the square tabs on the ring keying into the housing. Jim

Has anyone tried one of these walmart ATV seat pads on a V-Strom? I'd like to try more padding there, but if it doesn't fit OK, I don't want to buy one. Any wisdom out there? Thanks, -Barron
