folding chair for canping

Post by Craig Kahler » Sun Jul 17, 2011 10:02 am

I'm looking for a chair with a backrest, which folds up to a small size for motorcycle camping. Wall-mart has chairs which fold into a compact tube shape, but is 36" long. I'm hoping to find something similar but a little smaller when folded. Craig [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Check the Kermit Chair, hardwood frame and canvas, look like a director's chair for a midget. Beautifully made. http://www.kermitchair.com/ Don M -----Original Message----- From: Craig Kahler Sent: Sunday, July 17, 2011 11:00 AM To: dsn_klr650@yahoogroups.com Subject: [DSN_KLR650] Folding chair for canping I'm looking for a chair with a backrest, which folds up to a small size for motorcycle camping. I have a "Quik-E-Seat" by GCI Outdoor (www.GCIOutdoor.com) Here is a version on Amazon, which has a picture. http://www.amazon.com/GCI-Outdoors-19010-Outdoor-Quik-E-Seat/dp/B0042X33TQ I won mine at a rally. It may not be as "cool" as a Kermit Chair but it is a lot cheaper, and I can get up and down from it much easier. It is small, compact and very light. The only difference in mine and the one shown on Amazon is mine doesn't have the cup holder. +1.. but I would highly recommend you get the optional leg extensions as well. Makes a big difference getting in/out of the chair for us big guys.. e.g. 6'7" 280lbs Randy from Burbank/Wrightwood ________________________________ From: "klrdon@..." Kermit Chair. $140 from Aerostich. This is one of those camping accessories that is outrageously priced, and worth every penny, or at least well worth the $70 I paid for mine about 15 or 20 years ago. You will see hundreds of them at a BMW rally, thousands at a National (perhaps that tells you something). It packs into a package that is smaller than your tent. I used to enjoy the low ride it offers, perfect for semi-conscious stability around the campfire with a cocktail in one hand and a cigar in the other. but these days I have to use the leg extenders to be able to get out of it easily. I have heard these are no longer being made, but that they may again be offering the long-discontinued tall version of the chair.

Time to clean the pilot circuit, most likely just the jet. Just follow the procedure to turn the carb sideways as recommended when doing the carb shim mod. Remove the bowl and float (keep track of the float needle) Remove the pilot jet (the little one) and clean it. If it is really clogged take a strand from a brass wire brush and push out the crud. Reassemble and you'll be good as new.
