dallas area mechanic?
I also would like this information as I am not 'mechanically' inclined
at all. Must to my
embarrassment, as it's been like 20 years, I don't fix flats and such at
simply take the
wheel off and take it to someone.

old & new style fender?
I agree with John Biccum (very samrt KLRista). I have been using using the
same fender for 20K miles and like it very much. It is less effected by side
winds and does not allow water over the front of the fender. I use the KTM
bolts which include the bolts and are long enough to get them started.
Tighten them up a little at a time and you don't have to enlarge the holes.
This fender used to be $21 though it has increased to $25 at your local KTM
dealer.
I converted from the Acerbis SuperMoto fender which allows a stream of water
Up and Over the fender. Up as in you would ride through the stream of water
while riding in the rain. Don't let the coolness factor fool you. It is a
good dry weather fender but fails big time in wet or off-road conditions.
