Recently I have given thought to leaving KLR's for a DR 650 or DRZ 400 for something better on dirt. There isn't anything wrong with my KLR but it does have 54,000 miles. It has a Corbin, Map rotor, stainless brake lines, blade fuse hookup, fancy light switch mirror conversion, year old maintenance free battery, Mefo tires that are close to new, Happy trail saddlebag racks, and hwy pegs with radiator guard. It has a center stand. IMS pegs. Moose bash plate (with battle scars). Re-jetted. Barkbusters and gel grips. I wonder what its value is? Probably be better to take all the add ons off and sell separately??? Just toying around with it. Don't really have to do it.

99 klr worth?????
Before you decide that you can get something better on dirt, but a
thirteen tooth front sprocket on and see what you think.
You might take off some of that weight too. I'm just saying.

I'm also not desperate to save a few $$. If there was an easy convenient option [like the DR650 pegs were for my '97 KLR] I'd take it. Since there doesn't appear to be I'll just get some IMS pegs next time I am ordering something from a Canadian dualsport vendor. > > > > safe riding, > > > > Vik Banerjee > > threeohm@... > > www.thelazyrando.com > > > > On 2011-07-11, at 5:40 PM, Cox, John wrote: > > > > > > Tried ebay, craigslist, etc? > > > > Very Respectfully, > > > > John Cox > > > > From: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com [mailto:DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of Vik Banerjee > > Sent: Monday, July 11, 2011 5:19 PM > > To: KLR650 list > > Subject: Re: [DSN_KLR650] Low cost steel footpegs? > > > > > > Just to follow up on this thread....I went down to my Suzuki dealer today to get the DR650 footpegs below and found they were out of stock and would be $100CDN to order in. IMS Pro pegs are cheaper than that and available in Canada so I'll probably go that route as I can't see any advantage to Suzuki pegs if they aren't cheaper. > > > > safe riding, > > > > Vik Banerjee > > threeohm@... > > www.thelazyrando.com > > > > On 2011-07-07, at 11:24 AM, Mike Frey wrote: > > > > > Suzuki DR-650 pegs fit perfectly. I can't recall what make/model that was. Anyone know of something that would work that would be a lot less $$$ than say a set of IMS pegs at $100 [CDN]? > > >> > > >> safe riding, > > >> > > >> Vik Banerjee > > >> threeohm@... > > >> www.thelazyrando.com > > > > > > > > > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] > > > > ------------------------------------ > > List Sponsors - Dual Sport News: http://www.dualsportnews.com > Arrowhead Motorsports: http://www.arrowheadmotorsports.com > List FAQ courtesy of Chris Krok: http://www.bigcee.com/klr650faq.html > Member Map: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DSN_KLR650/app/peoplemap/view/map > Group Apps: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DSN_KLR650/grouplets/subscriptionsYahoo!
