I'm in need of an electronic ignition module for a 1984 KLR 600. Does anyone have one for sale, or know where I might obtain a used one? Thanks Paul ricketts@...

EBay is your friend for klr600 parts. I have an '85 KLR and have been getting a bunch of stuff for cheap. I know there was a few of them on there. Nice to meet a fellow 600 rider. Know anyone with a spare tank? Mine is dented and I can't seem to find one anyplace. Been thinking of seeing if I can mod. a klr650 tank to fit. -----Original Message----- From: ricketts@... Hi, I'm new to this site but have had my almost vintage KLR 600 for close to 20 years. I assume there are some 600 specialists among you. I had the engine apart recently to replace the main bearings etc, the left one of which had been busted by debris from the oil impellar which had been chewed by the timing chain which accidentally hopped off. The balancers are indexed correctly and the chain is OK and so is the new adjuster and spring. The problem is that at a certain rpm as I increase speed and engine rpm going down the road a noticable imbalance sets in, not just a vibration. There may even be a loss of power but I'm not sure. It goes away at higher rpm. I have rechecked chain and balancers but everything is spot on. Any clues? Bjorn --------------------------------- Yahoo! Autos. Looking for a sweet ride? http://www.nadaguides.com/Motorcycles/1986/Kawasaki/KL600B2/Values Ouch, Nada puts it at $300 for excellent, $200 for very good, $100 for good, $25 for fair, and N/A for poor condition. So it looks like you could easily get $150 for yours. Matter of fact, I'll buy it for $151 depending on where you are. Seriously though, unless it's in showroom condition and worth something to a collector, you're not likely to see more than $800. If I were you, I'd start at $1000 and be willing to take significantly less. da Vermonster

Nor is there any particular reason to pick US212 over any of the other choices across South Dakota. At least the Black Hills section has a fairly complete listing, including most of the obvious paved routes, even if the many unpaved arterials get short shrift. Lost Horse, Bogus Jim, Victoria Lake Road, Cuny Table and Red Valley. But maybe those are best saved for a more advanced class. Coverage in my own riding neighborhood, western Wisconsin, is pretty skimpy.
