backfire

anyone know what the prob is when you're klr600 backfires when shutting down/?

Is this shutting down as in backing off the throttle or shutting down when you turn the key off? If closing the throttle while you are riding is causing backfires then it is possible that the "coasting enricher" part of the carby is somehow faulty. Mister_T

First thing to check is the tightness of the exhaust header flange bolts, it you are sucking air there on deceleration you will have backfiring. Kurt Grife
