On the pre-08s the material is polypropylene.
On the 08's and later, the fenders, hand guards and side panels are polypropylene, and the cowling and upper fairing are ABS.
Hope this helps...

I am very happy with super small and super light backpacking tent, bag, pillow etc. bought at REI - I think it is the classic half dome tent. Been through several mid-west violent thunderstorms and stayed warm and dry.
I am rethinking my sleeping bag though - bought a down three season bag that compacts to next to nothing in its own compression bag. I made the mistake of leaving it in the saddle bags for the past couple of years and apparently that ruins a down bag. Now it doesn't fluff up so well. My next bag will be larger easier to get into and warmer in the cold and probably some kind of synthetic insulation that isn't so picky about being compressed. It will probably ride outside the top case in a wet sack as it wont weigh much.
My 1960s svea stove is still the best thing I have seen going - and runs on any liquid that will burn but was meant to burn white gas. I have used car gas and rubbing alcohol when desperate.
