Ian, they look like nice tires. smile. An additional question you might want to ask yourself: -- what do you want to use them for? I have not used that maxxis tire but I have used this one: http://www.maxxis.com/MotorcycleATV/Off-road/Dual-Sport-M6006-FR.aspx they were on a bike I bought in Dallas, TX, and worked extremely well across the 2econdary paved roads, esp the OK/AR section of the Talimena scenic byway then on AR#7 scenic byway going N. I had previously used several sets of K270 and this was a pleasant surprise at the paved-road worthiness (lack of squirm) of this tire. It was really held well in the sharp curves/twisties of AR and MO. (My favorite road sign near Hot Springs, AR: Dangerous Curves Next 69 Miles. Later that same week, I took it into the Black Hills and road many miles of various conditions: creek crossing, broken rocks-trails, snow, rain, gravel roads, pure dirt trails and more twisties. Back in central SD where it sees a lot of wet and dry gravel roads, I continued to 'use them up'. It probably does not have much more than a useful life span of 4K miles--but are they ever fun. Depending on your throttle style, you might get a longer service life. The most impressive feature were their predictable manners on pavement--which lets out my alter ego, perhaps more than it should. Judging from the two links/pictures, I would say the tire you are asking about is more of a trials bike tire =K270 and the one I suggest is more like the D606. I liked mine: and would buy them again but not soon as I have several K-270's on my tire rack. revmaaatin.
