Qualifying statement: Ex-MX head case of course! Currently enjoying pushing the mity KLR (solo & two-up) to its limits mostly off-road, and doing some street/sport on the mity Bandit..on the side. On my second set of Don's links (have tried the 1 inch drops..Big improvement in clearance over the 1.5 in drops, yet the same benefits of the lowered CG when throwing the KLR into turns. I've since settled on a set of his 3/4 inch drops..best compromise available in my sometimes humble opinion (as links go) for the KLR650 when attempting to improve handling, while maintaining clearance. The 3/4's have a definite impact on the KLR's handling when throwing it around on fire roads, single track, roadwork, etc. The 3/4's performed flawlessly in this years Devils Creek Dualsport weekend in Brooksville. We (wife Lori & I two-up) finished behind schedule, that was actually due to having to wait up for the group that we were leading. Don's links are first rate as quality goes, and he's a breeze to deal with. With his prices, he's not making a killing in providing these links to us, he doesn't advertise outside of our list, and he's actually attentive to questions/input as design input goes....unlike larger impersonal firms. Be sure to ask Don about the "Silver Vein" powdercoat finish. Very slick. I've been working on a comparison of lowlinks available for the KLR650 for some time, (way too long) it will be made public in our "files" section upon completion. The comparison will include the stock KLR links, 1.5 inch drops, 1 inch drops, and the new 3/4 inch drops. All best Scott (finally feeling good after recovering from root to tha bone wisdom tooth extraction hell) A14 "thunderdog" Sorrento, Fl

I would like to know what sizes these suspension lowering links you guys have been using. I would also like to learn of their cost and location of purchase. I put my wife on my KLR tonight, because she has been starting to Bug me about getting back into riding. She was able to tippee toe with the dished Corbin and IMS tank. So, I figure a two to two and a half inch lowering would put her right on the flat foot level. So, I need to learn about these links. Looks like Santa has got to make a delivery next Christmas. Don't even try to sell me a bike now. I am walking a very thin line financially as it is at this moment, but later on, after I finish my ride (she doesn't want to go on the very first trip. I don't blame her. She has been off for about five years now. I am so happy that I managed to peak her interest again. So, if I can swing it, I want to eventually pick her up a 650 with the lowering links and dished Corbin. Later guys/gals. Jim Texas Thumpin [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Jim, 1.5" low-links has been the norm. I would think 2" 'could work' with moderate riding speeds and conditions if the misses is a lightweight. But still a big heavy bike for ones with short legs. Maybe a lighter bike - like a lowered DR350 would work better? don, A11, in WA

Questions about these lowering links. Will I loose suspension travel or does it just change the ride height? Luckily due to the holiday feed'n frenzy and quiting smoking (Woo-Hooo) I have no problem compressing the suspension once seated. I have adapted the gold wing technique of steping up onto the left peg and swing'n a leg over while it is still on the side stand. That technique is for poop if you've dropped it on hill though. And Don Beck please reply to me separately, the friendly folk at yahoo cut your address off. Thanks, Dan /|\ motorcycle_dan@...

Dan, the e-dresses on the Yahoo groups are cut short (for security?). Just click on what is there and you'll get through. don
