Yesterday, I fixed the shrouds on my A17 with quick ties as you suggested. I lost 3 of 4 screws the first week. Nice workmanship, eh? Also, I disabled the kickstand and clutch "safety" switches with your help. Thanks for making this easier. don [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Sorry I haven't replied to everyones email so I thought I'd do it here. Thanks for the advice on the Torque Wrenches, I've decided to go with the S-K model 25-250in lbs. I've only got 375 miles on my bike so far. there's a grand total of about 57 miles of Road that I can ride here on Unalaska Island. Needless to say, we've been getting alot of rain lately, but I still try to ride at least an hour every other day. really sucks due to the Max spped limit is 30 mph, I've had it uo to 60 on some of the more Isolated dirt roads though.....ssshhhhhhhhh!! I'm alreay thinking of my first Road trip with it. Next summer I plan on loading it up on the Ferry Tsunami and sending it to Homer AK, I'll fly to Homer the day before the ferry arrives. I plan on riding from Homer to Fairbanks then to Dawson Creek, down to Cache Creek, then to Kelowna and down to Tonasket WA. I've started planning using the Milepost. Also, I've posted a pic of my ride. It sitting in front of a Bunker that was built during WW2. If you notice, I've done my first Mod to it. There's alot of Salt in the air here and I kept getting alot of surface rust. Being tired of scrubbing the rust off, I removed the Pass. peg mounts and went to work with the sandblaster. I know it doesn't look good, but I now know it's my bike. Stu A18 Dutch Harbor, AK

Yeah, but how many miles can you ride OFF the roads. You can fit MILES of single-track into a handful of acres. Devon

OK thanks to all who gave me a view on the KLR, even some interesting ideas like outrunning Rhino and Lion. For the record never tried that either but I get my jollies under the sea with shark diving, not really interested in land animals! Its done, officially ordered the KLR today and will be collecting on Saturday if the bank is still talking to me. Wouldn't mind groups comments on a few bits I plan to add: 1.Pro Taper bars - raced with them for years and have a spare pair - do they help with vibes? 2.Have some oxford soft luggage - has anybody fitted? 3.What are you guys doing with that ugly stock pipe - yip I know its Forestry approved but we don't have that pesky bear to contend with here. Any suggestions - Two Brothers, Yosh, Supertrapp? Thanks Rob
