When I lock the steering wheel, my tail light turns on and remains on...making the steering wheel lock unusable.
Anybody heard of this before or have any suggestions on an easy fix for me before diving into the electrical diagram?
thx, Scott

tail light turns on when steering wheel locked?
Scott,
Are you turning the key too far CCW? There's a detent between OFF and PARK on my 2005 that's called LOCK. I once almost ran my battery down and learned my lesson.

tail light turns on when steering wheel locked?
Hi Scott, there is probably have no problem other then you are turning your key back one click to far which not only locks your steering but also turns on the tail light. The first click back from off should lock your steering without turning on the light.....have a great day....Greg

back support - kidney belts
I don't know how many of you (if any...?) wear a back brace while riding. I use a Malcom Smith MX belt from the '70s or an ONEAL MX one I bought at Cycle Gear ($25?), and I've used one of those ones like the workers at Home Depot use (around your waist and over your shoulders). Anyone I've talked into trying one has said that it makes a BIG difference in comfort. I put one on for EVERY ride, no matter how short (I'm an ATGATT!!!), and I've done MANY 500 mile days, including Alaska twice with #3 coming in June.
Try it - you'll like it!
Cheers,
Ed
