Doesn't work for vodka or in my opinion, beer. Bogdan> > Hate to say it but the high dollars don't mean your getting the best > helmet > > for yourself. Just a myth... I really think (as far as helmets are concerned), that it is whatever
brand/model you personally have confidence in. I've owned other brands of
helmets, and always came back to Bell, the fit, finish and features for the
dollar are hard to beat.

I seem to recall reading something years ago that stated all helmets should do that. Something about releasing or absorbing the kinetic energy of a crash by breaking instead of passing that energy on to your neck or skull, thus breaking them. I don't know the physics involved as I'm no engineer but it sounds right. Something like the way they build modern cars with crush zones to absorb impacts without hurting the "soft" parts inside? Any engineers want to comment on this ? cheers, Steve A11>Last one I had was an HJC - FG, That sucker busted on impact, company said >it was suppose too. The helmet acted EXACTLY as designed if if broke on impact. Helmets
are good for 1 crash/impact. Ask ANY helmet manufacturer, don't ask
parts counter guys. When the structure of the helmet is disrupted by
the force of an impact, then the strengh of the helmet is
compromised, thus reducing any further impact absorbtion. Sounds
pretty technical huh?
Experiment to show the point: Take a piece of styrofoam bout 2 inches
thick and lay it over your hand. smack it with a butcher knife. The
styrofaom will absorb the impact of the knife. Now hit it again in
the exact same spot. What? You don't want to? Missing fingers? Then
why would you reuse a helmet? I'd rather lose a finger or 2 than my
head!
Brett.
