tire question
For the list,
I have a badly worn Pirelli MT 70 on the back of my 02 KLR 650. I have some
riding season left. I don't have enough $$ left for a new tire after just
buying the bike. Local dealer wants $89 for an OEM type!
Anybody got something laying around with roughly 3000 miles left on it they
would like to sell - - - - reasonable?

Why is it that I see a lot of people mounting there front tires on the
dual purpose bikes back wards. I see enough of it that there must be a
reason.

Jim,
The only front tire that I know of that is commonly
mounted backwards on the KLR is the IRC GP110. I
belive this is done to prevent cupping, but I could be
wrong. I think Jake Jakeman was the first person to
intall it backwards and write about it. Check his
website out for more info:

tire question
I have a 2001 KLR 650 and do about 90% street. I Need a new rear
tire and am considering the Metzeler Tourance and the Michelin
Anakee; I might be overlooking better options? Recomendations /
opinions ?

For those who want something a bit cheaper, the Kenda 761 is a pretty good street-oriented tire, you can get a pair for about $100. Compared to the Metzeler Tourance they seem to handle about the same on the road, handle rain fairly well, are much better on gravel, but the rear doesn't wear as well as the Tourance does (but then it's half the price of a Tourance so it sort of evens out). I don't know much about Pirelli motorcycle tires, but Pirelli automobile tires don't wear well, though they're quite sticky.> i went with perrili mt90 st scorpi0ns and have not regretted it

tire question
It's tire time and I'm thinking about not dropping $250+ for another
set of Conti TKC-80's. Great tires, but the Kenda 761 and Duro
903/904 are less than half that much. I found a lot of scoop on the
Kendas but not much on the Duros. Anybody want to share some feedback
on the Duros?
