tire question
I wore out two Michelin Comp II tires thate were 140/80. They worked
great in the sand because they were wider. The only problem I
noticed was they were so close to the front of the swing arm that
small rocks could get trapped on top of the swing arm and would
rattle around until they bounced out. One other note: Most of the
other dirt bikes are running 18" tires and a 140/80X17 is about the
same diameter as a 120/90X18.

tire question
Hmm, wider tyres better in the rain? On tarmac? Not sure now but does
not necessary have to be true, factors like pressure on the ground per
area comes in to play then. And if you mess up the shape of the tyre,
due to the too narrow rim, it will be pointy, not "round", the tyre of
course, so to speak, with lots less rubber on the ground for almost all
angles of lean.

Shouldn't be a problem. "80" is the aspect ratio: nominal Height/Width. It could mean your back tire has a slightly smaller diameter compared to stock, in effect lowering gearing slightly. tire question
I follow all the threads, and the list daily. Got a tire question. Seldom
see Maxxis M6006 tires mentioned. I put a set on several months ago, about
$80 for the pair. I like them, seem to have great grip on the street, where
I spend most of my time. Am I missing something here? Anyone care to share
experience with these tires and pressures they use? Mileage from them?
