Hi,
Is there any friend experienced with oversized front brake rotors ?
Is there a big difference of stopping power ?
If your experiences are positive, which brand should I prefer: EBC wave-
plain) or the one from Dual Star ? (I can't afford Galfer kit; over
$500.-)
My bike is an A3 in amazingly very good condition with:
-Stage 2 jet kit
-IDS-2 muffler
-Progressive springs
-WP rear suspension
-Fork brace
-16 teeth front sprocket etc, etc, etc
On the highway I can run 85-90 mph contineously but unfortunately
braking power of my bike does not match its overall performance. I use
it 80 % on pavement.
Many thanks for any help ?
Best Wishes from Istanbul,
EG

4a. Issues with front brake bleeding

I put on a new Galfer front brake line yesterday. I primed the line
with brake fluid before tightening the bottom banjo bolt then filled
up the master cylinder with fluid and began the bleeding process. I
can't get any resistance on the brake lever. There appears to be
fluid throughout the system, as when I take out the bleeder valve
fluid runs out of the hole. When I open the valve and depress the
lever only a very small amount of fluid comes out. There is not
nearly enough pressure to even think about using the speed bleeder. I
let it set overnight with the lever fully compressed (recommended per
review of the archives) but still the same story today.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,

I had a similar problem a couple of weeks ago when I installed the large
rotor and SS line on my '04. I tried using both a "one man brake
bleeder" and a Miti-vac, and couldn't get any pressure to build up in
the system. I finally took the bleed fitting off and wrapped the
threads in teflon tape and that took care of the problem. Also make
sure all of your banjo fittings are clean, the washers are all in place,
and everything is snugged down.
I would also suggest getting rid of the speed bleeders; A lot of other
people on some other lists have had trouble with them; I had a set on my
R100/7 and they leaked.
