Somehow the bolts became loose on my aftermarket slip-on. Anyway the
can melted the side plastic piece and it looks pretty bad. Anyone with
a similar experience and knows how to remove this burnt on plastic?

burnt plastic on pipe
Have you considered warming it up again and wiping with coarse cloth
like a clean old potato bag?
Can't hurt the situation.

The burnt plastic is polypropylene, for which there are no
solvents that you would want to mess with. If you leave it
alone, it will eventually melt and burn off to nothing but a
stain, but it takes a while and it smells!
I'd suggest running the bike to soften the plastic (or heat
it with a Bernzomatic torch) and use a copper or brass brush
or "Brillo" type pad - which is available in the kitchen
cleaner section of many stores and use that to wipe the rest
of it off.
