name that farkle - seek info, please
Hi all, please help me ID and locate a farkle that I have seen on
some KLR's. The farkle is a tool holder what looks like a PCV pipe,
with two caps on the ends, that attaches to the front frame.
Who makes and sells those? Any info would be appreciated.
Also, I am cheep, so if any of you have a used one of the cargo tubes
that you want to sell, please let me know, and again, thanks.

rather than ABS, but the reason I went with the ABS is because the
sewer cleanout plugs screw right into the ABS, whereas with the PVC

I made my own. I went to Home Depot and bought a 4 foot length of 3" ABS sewer pipe. I cut it with a hacksaw to the length I desired, then put two 3" sewer cleanout plugs on it (one on each end) and used two large stainless steel pipe clamps to clamp it to my skidplate.> Hi all, please help me ID and locate a farkle that I have seen on > some KLR's. You don't buy these tubes: you make them yourself.
OTOH, I recently saw some pre-made, waterproof tubes designed to hold instruction manuals on farm tractors. A quick google search was not informative, but they're out there somewhere: smaller but substantially lighter in weight than the schedule 40 pipe style tool tube.

Try your local John Deere dealer (or rather their dumpster out back, since most tractor purchasers immediately dispose of them), or you can order them at AGRI SUPPLY DIRECT http://www.agrisupply.com they have the pointer to them on their front page (they must be selling a *ton* of the things, I can imagine them good ole' boys in North Carolina standin' 'round scratchin' their gimme caps and sayin' ta one another, "now what's a buncha them dadburn Californicators want with a tractor operator's manual canister? Well, nevermind, they want'em, we'll sell'em!"). The killer is the shipping -- it's like $6.95 for the operator's manual canister, and $8 to ship it!> > You don't buy these tubes: you make them yourself. > > OTOH, I recently saw some pre-made, waterproof tubes designed to

Or get a welding rod container and some heavy duty hose clamps.
