Any feed back on the 705 kits. I've been waiting to hear the overall test results. Patman was supposed to post his test results. You gotta love this bike, But anyone who really rides one has to agree it could use a few more pony's. Or maybe I've been hanging around the drag strip to much. Sorry but 34 hp and 650cc to me means there is still something left on the table. My lawnmower has that kinda power. BHW Anyone that doesn't agree don't chime in

Wayne, I have a few thousand miles on a 705 with the stage 2 head from Schnitz racing. Cary does beautiful work. Absolutely first class. The bike needs less throttle to do anything. Easy acceleration to pass,even on the freeway. Way less vibration. No oil use. Hard to believe it's a KLR, huh? I'll be adding a pipe to see what that adds - but a quiet one. I'm sure Michael N will chime in soon The 685 with the pre-stage head and oversize stainless vales is about half the money, and nearly all the performance. John Biccum has posted dyno results for a 685 and stage 2 head, IIRC. It might be the pre-stage with oversize valves - don't know for sure. Stock muffler and headpipe, mild jetting, snorkle out. Here's the link. A little more airbox will add h/p, as will a better headpipe and slip on and correct jetting. Geez,what a bummer,goin orange & all that.Can't blame you,great bike.Here locally is a friend of mine who bought KLR,went to KTM & is now back to KLR.He is,like myself a realist that measures most of motorcycling by the almighty dollar.Bang vs.buck.I will never dog a KTM but I always come back to this thought.Recently,I was on a dual sport event in another state when I noticed that my rear sprocket was stripped of all but 3 teeth on my sprocket.I desperately needed a new sprocket.I stopped at a little ma/pa shop and was able to locate a rear sprocket from a nearby town & have it delivered to their shop w/in 2 hrs. I put the new sprocket on that evening & rode the next day.KTM is a great bike BUT can you pull off a trick like that on a KTM??....I doubt it.Think preventive maintenance.I hope someday you are not stranded on the side of the road with this thought going through your mind but it is something to consider..Blake,you mean alot to the group,you will be missed of course,I appreciate all of your input.You are a response machine!!
