Anybody on the list in Valdez, AK around 7-19? I saw a couple of KLR's in town that were decked out in aluminum panniers and other world tourer type equipment. I wanted to BS with the owners but it looked like they were tucked away for the night at the Totem.

That had to be Mike and Larry from Missouri. I met them at the Oil Field Motel in Prudhoe Bay. Mike is on line at: sstro56@... I left out of Dead Horse with them but they rode a lot slower than me. They were staying the night at Cold Foot and I went back to Fairbanks that day. Took pictures and visited other riders on the way and made it in under 12 hrs. Harvey A15 -----------------

Had meant to get this posted earlier... Took a (short) ride down the Natchez Trace from it's north east terminus outside Nashville down to Meriwether Lewis' gravesite last Saturday. It's about 50 miles of 40 and 50 mph speed limit National Park highway. No billboards, no commercial entities, and if you're not careful, no gas, and if you're not more careful, deer (saw about three dead by the side of the road, and about 5 living ones off to the side at various places). Anyway, as I was pulling into the Meriwether Lewis area, I saw a couple of guys on bikes coming out. One was on a KLR650 (all I seem to remember is that the handguards were green, unlike mine on my A17 which are black. We gave each other a nod and a wave, and he and his partner (who was on more of a street/touring kind of bike) took off. Wish I'd gotten there a few minutes earlier. Believe it or not, since I got my A17 in early September, this is the first time I've seen another one. So, if you're on the list, that was me who you saw. If you're in the Nashville area (which I doubt, based on all the stuff you had on the bike), email me. Glen A17 Nashville [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
