looking for a doohickey

Post by mptadam » Wed May 28, 2008 10:08 pm

New owner, just picked up an 05 for a song from a guy moving across the country. This is my first single cylinder, so not quite sure if it sounds right or if I should be worried, though I tend to be sensitive to the sounds of my steeds...be they 2 wheel or 4 wheel. It's got 6800 miles on it, which I know means nothing, and I'm paranoid to ride it much until I install a new doo'. The only problem is everyone I've called is sold out. My coworkers think I'm nuts making a call and immediately stating "I'd like to order a Doohickey please". Is anyone aware of a person or shop with an extra piece I could purchase? The 1 1/4" wrench is no problem, and it looks like the puller used is simply a 22x1.5 bolt?

Today was my first real time to ride and relax in the last couple weeks and I put over 100 miles on my Green Sweetheart. I am soaked to the skin, and tired but very pleased. Bike now has 300 miles, mostly paved but not all. And is the best thing I have bought myself in a very long time. Love My 2008... looks like she is not an oil burner as she is not down a drop. YEPPER... MY LUCKS A CHANGIN!!! YEE HAAA!!! A Happy owner of the 2008 Michael PS... IT WAS RAINING SO HARD I HAD TO POUR OUT MY SHOES WHEN I GOT HOME... Next time better foot wear... LOL... So I am COLD, WET and PLEASED.

I'm in the same boat. Could this be a vast conspiracy? A sudden doohickey shortage?

I understand that the Croatians'', in league with the Taiwanese, have unleashed a plot of staggering proportions. This cunning plan starts with the acquisition of all the worlds' doohickey supplies, then onward and upward from there. Is Homeland Security on to this dastardly deed? Watch this space!!!
