zerk fittings in swingarm

Post by gburghick » Sun Mar 09, 2008 4:10 pm

i was told even if you install grease fittings in the swingarm you will still need to disassemle it to grease them because the type of seals that are on it is this correct ? if so aren't i better off just taking it apart for swingarm service i like the idea of the grease gun but if you still need to take it apart this seems like wasted time to install zerk fittings any thoughts on this

spare internal engine parts

Post by greasedog123 » Sun Mar 09, 2008 5:13 pm

If anyone in KLR Land needs any internal engine parts from an '03 KLR 650 with 39,000 miles on them let me know and make an offer. This includes everything inside the crankcases and the cases too. Gears and cases are fine-- crankshaft has bad bearing on ignition side- roller bearing- and from what I have discovered it is not worth replacing since you can buy a whole bottom end (used)on ebay for less than the cost of 1/2 of the crankshaft with new bearing. That's what I did. So if anyone needs these parts just e-mail me. John in Florida
