2nd gear

Post by John Graesser » Tue Jan 15, 2008 6:40 pm

Has anybody ever lost a tooth on the driven second gear? I lost one end of Nov and just got running again. 04 A18 with 15K. Now a bike shop next door had a 05 with 4K come in with the exact same problem. The tooth in each gear was torn out the same and was not like a normal gear failure. The tooth was intact and it tore out down into the base metal like it was incorrectly hardened. I hope its not a new problem.

I sure hope not, that's the gear I slam into to pull a huge wheelie after winding out first. Darren Clark 2005 KLR-650 A-18 Fowlerville, MI John Graesser wrote:
