klr non vacumm petcock

Post by williamk1956 » Tue Oct 23, 2007 8:00 pm

I had a problem with my '07 starving out of fuel, I traced it to the vacuum line from the carb to the petcock. It was bent over at a 90 deg angle during assy at the factory I guess, pinching off the vacuum supply. I looped it over in a arc and plugged the line to my Ca. emissions system, I left the emissions connection open to atmospere while I put another 100 miles on it, seems to fine now. Is there a non vacuum petcock that I can install to simplify things, the stock unit looks very similar to the one on my sons PW-80, (very non vacuum). PS Any KLR's in Santa Clarita let's meet up and ride the canyons and forest roads. Thanks Keith in the SCV

a motorcyclist's apology]

Careful even startling them. I zoomed close to the door of an old beat up pickup all over the road one night about 11:00 PM on my old H1 Kawasaki probably startling him as he was drunk. A block or 2 later, he ran over my ass ........... and left the scene. It is rather disheartening to be flying through the air after being hit on a bike hoping a Mercedes or Cadillac just hit you only to find an old beat up pickup leave the scene as you hit the ground. Reality. I still think the ass was trying to come close to me to scare me as maybe I did him ......... but ....... er ...... he probably saw 3 of me and didn't know which to aim for. They caught him but penalties weren't too severe in those days. I don't ride much at night anymore (and I don't try to startle them or intimidate them). Criswell
