Good Morning, It's been a while since I've posted on the DSN KLR list. Nice to be back. One of my buddies and I are planning to do the Great Divide Ride starting out from San Diego on Sept 8. We're both a little concerned about communications and have been looking into renting a Sat phone. Does anyone have any good or bad experiences with Sat phone rental they could share? I don`t know about SAT phones, but I think I would be concerened about doing a Great Divide Ride in September? It snows early in the mountains doesn`t it?

Kyle, I grew up on the eastern slope of CO., went to college at the state school in Gunnison, CO, (7,200 ft alt. - located at the bottom of the valley - mountains all around), lived in Grand Junction, CO, for about five years. I'm expecting (hoping for) a typical indian summer. Warm days, crisp nights, no daily rain showers. I think we may dub this the "Donner Run", in keeping with the fall mountain pass attempt by the Donner Party over the Sierras in the 1800's. ;~) Chuck

Hi folks With 15000km on my 08 time for another rear tire is looming. I am considering going with something a little wider. And wondering if any one with an 08 has run a 140/80 17 or a 150/80 17. I am curious if there were any issues with swing arm clearance or clearance off the exhaust. Thanks.. Scotty
