Tim, the strong reaction you've received today comes from a couple of things. Fred, is the longest running continual lister on this list of nearly 2,500 people. He was one of the first to help get it going. He adopted us. Yes, it was good business. But it has served us all well. In addition, he has been part of the host team for the annual rally held in Moab for nearly five years. He has helped countless listers with their KLR problems regardless if it has involved a sale. During the rally, his shop is humming nearly 20 hours a day. During the rest of the year, hundreds of listers have stopped in his shop in Moab and gotten to know him and benefitted from the directions he offers to the best riding in what could be argued dualsport heaven. In short, while Fred has benefitted from the list in his business, many of us and I do mean many...have come to consider him a friend. The internet is an unbelievably powerful tool. Your choice to share your friend's experience on this list was intended to put the 2,500 listers on the list on alert. For the hundreds of people that Fred has helped this was too much of a potential injustice without Fred being able to respond to a fairly negative accusation and for all of to know the exact details of your friends transaction. You stepped into a landmine... Kurt Simpson

Ok, on the point of posting while Fred is away. My friend didn't know Fred was on vacation. I haven't checked the group lately, so I didn't know he was on vacation. I didn't write the message, I merely posted it where he couldn't. Talk to the administrator to add more members. I'm sure he would love to join this group of vultures. Actually with his years of riding experience and engineering background, he'd have a lot of positive feedback to add to the group.

I think at this point this horse had been beaten, dragged over a few cliffs and has had enough. Everyone here knows Fred is great - hell even I know that and have never dealt with him... Lets get back to riding, KLR's and let this thread fade off into the sunset... Please? jim

I think a slam to Fred's reputation deserves many responses from all of us on the list who have bought parts from him and received his knowledge free of charge. I have never met Fred, but from my phone conversations with him and reading his posts on this list, I feel like he his a friend. Someday, I hope to meet him. If you don't want to read the responses from the others on this list who have dealt with Fred and feel like defending him when someone with a BS name slams him, just skip to the next nessage. More like a snakepit, I'm afraid. I guess if you encounter anything you would consider not reputable, but it's from a reputable source, you could keep your mouth shut. Don't worry about the next guy, I guess. For someone wanting to drop the matter, wouldn't it be better to send to my email address instead of the list.

Kurts the man when it comes to KLR specific stuff, I'd much rather deal with Fred than any dealer. Have ordered numerous thing from him and am very satisfied, maybe your friend had the attitude. Eric A 8 Hawaii

Boy I love these flame wars. Unfortunately, I have a job and can't always add my two cents. The problem I have with TRSRDR's reporting of Fred's dilema is it is hearsay. It wasn't TRSRDR's own experience but one he heard of. Not admissible in court for good reason. You pass on unverifiable information from a second source and claim it to be credible, when in fact you can't make any claims as to what the facts really are. All you can state is what your friend says supposedly happened, whether it did it didn't or whether his facts are accurate or not. So when you feel the need to flame someone in a public forum, it's best to report your own experiences. Perhaps your friend could give Fred a call and explain this injustice. It's sort of like me making a claim that I heard from a friend that TRSRDR is a pedophile. Even if I qualify that I can't verify this statement, just making this statement can inflict damage to one's reputation. Now when it comes to Fred, I have a personal story that I've been too embarassed to report. I once ordered fork boots in a particular color that did not fit eventhough the package was clearly marked with the correct KLR product number. I sent them back to Fred. I never got word that I was credited and I didn't watch my Visa bill carefully. The next time I ordered something several months later I mentioned it and Fred credited me at that time. Sometime later I found a receipt from Arrowhead and he had given me a credit on another order months prior. I had to call Fred totally embarassed to correct the double credit. Undeniably, Fred ranks at the top when it comes to honesty and integrity. End of flame, lets get back to some important oil threads, tires debates and doohickey dilemas. -svt- KLR

God bless Fred ............... and Jennifer ............ wherever she may be out in the wide, wide web world. She was a true credit to umbrella girls and J.C. Penny models. Whatever happened to the Crack of Dawn anyway? PEDRO.VALDES@... wrote:

Just wanted to report that that Arrowhead motor sports is still coming though like a champ. Ordered new fork springs on Wed and had them in my hand by Friday. Thanks again for being there for us. I have never had a bad experience dealing with Fred. I have ordered numerous parts and have always been very pleased with the parts and the service. Shipping is as if he is right next door not across the country. Any questions I have had to ask have always been answered adequately and quickly. As long as Arrowhead has the part I need I am sure that I will be ordering from them. Just my opinion. Glenn 03 KLR650A17
