Another report on installing a replacement doohickey. My replacement
was an Eagle Mike unit from Fred. The KLR had around 17000 miles at
time of replacement. When I opened it up, the OEM doohickey looked
just fine - the lever was about in the middle of travel, plenty of
tension on the spring. I guess it's still worth it for peace of mind.
I followed the procedure listed on Marknet - worked like a charm, no
problems at all.
So now there are a set of tools available in the San Antonio area if
anyone needs them...
