Mine ticked over 38,000 last weekend. I suppose it has another couple hundred miles on it by now.

45,000 km or about 27,000 miles on a 1993 Andrew Casci in Penang, Malaysia I have had it for 5 years and mostly use it for commuting to work. Have done some nice rides in Malaysia, but there are a lot of rides into Thailand and beyond that I have not been able to join due to a busy work schedule. Would like to go before I get transfered by the company to another location. The KLR is too heavy for the jungle treks (250's work great), but it is perfect for the messed up local roads out here. Thanks to all for the good information about the KLR, I have learned a lot by monitoring the list.

Seems to me that many on the list during the past 3.5 years spoke of 60K smiles as easily doable. In my mind, that number is the first major milage goal, keeping up all the required maintenance as I go. If it goes on, so much the better. As predicted, my A15 went celebrated her 20Ksmile birthday last night. Yep, I was to busy smiling to notice. As for 100K smiles, I don't know (contrary to what I wrote in para 1). In the last mile, I had to do emergency cage avoidance, twice, in less than 3 blocks. Its 9:30pm, 4 lanes of well illuminated city streets, 30mph and I am below the speed limit. The first time, 'classic' cage/motorcycle encounter: car turned left in front of me. (I am driving in the lefts side of the right lane). I recover and move to the left side of the 'left lane'. The second time, I had to move from the left side of the left lane (four lanes of city traffic) to almost to the curb to avoid being t-boned. I have to wonder, why they ever did see me? I suspect a cell phone or alcohol was involved, as the vehicle was driving from the 'bar- district'. Took most of the fun out of the 35 mile ride. Yes, my lights were on, and my helmet is white, and the riding gear has reflective 'piping' to make it show up brighter. revmaaatin.

around 5400 miles on my '06, bought last May. Most were before the end of June of last year, when I found myself out of work and didn't have the funds to ride much for the rest of the summer. Around 800 this spring, so few because the snow didn't really leave until a little over a week ago. Only commuting until today, I did a little 150 mile ride to start breaking myself in for the summer. I'm shooting for 15,000 on the odometer by the end of this riding season. At last, a target to aim for! A16 with 21063 miles The last few miles were at the Texas Adventure Ride in Junction Texas, which will occur next year at the end of April. Enjoy the pictures and prose. Oh rev, I claim the slowest speed (5mph) injury accident (left ankle fracture) award. These KLRs are a little heavy. http://www.twtex.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17432 Tony G. A16 Fort Worth TX
