I think the folks who do the military upgrades to the KLR sell off plastic on Ebay... Jim

If you are looking at different colors there is plastic paint now that is incredible easy to use, I painted some old white lawn chairs, white again and they are holding up nicely, now is your plastic is destroyed that ain't going to help ya. JimD

I've seen some decent fenders and handguards from Ascerbis. As far as fairings, JC Whitney has a few. Some guys have actually grafted a small generic fairing to their KLR with good results. You may find something off of an old sport bike. You'll have eto get creative with the mounting brackets but if you take a look, what is under there now isn't exactly NASA grade. The most difficult part would be mounting the headlight. Go for it, but let us know the results. A couple of guys have done pretty interesting mods turning their KLR inito a Super Moto.

One option would be to go with the fairing that IanB is making. There was a post here, about a week ago, about IanB's custom fairing project on the DualsportBC forums: http://www.dualsportbc.com/forums/view_topic.php?id=3044&forum_id=8&highlight=back+to+the+future# I inquired about it last week and he has gone into production and is taking orders. Although... looking through ADV Rider today it seems the word is out :) http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=228352&page=2 Lucas

Has he decided on a price yet? It's very cool, but I wish the beak wasn't part of the fairing, I've broken several stock and aftermarket front fenders ;) Kinda limits it to careful woods riding. Z

Have a look at this fairing. According a couple of friends who have ridden with this rig, it is much quieter than the stock one. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?p=4572520&posted=1#post4572520 We were riding with a couple of these a couple of weeks ago but I got sidetracked and didn't try one. Still too pensive after riding Ian's new Husky 610...... Norm [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

According to the brochure he sent out.. Cost of the complete Kit $380.00 + taxes Optional indicators $25.00 + taxes I'm getting one.. figured I might as well upgrade the body work while I'm upgrading the suspension (grafting on 93 WR500 forks and swingarm). :) Lucas

I am your 'next' door neighbor! We are in SD, the next in the alphabet sequence! Says so in my atlas, which makes us neighbors when you ride a KLR. What a tale. I have had a couple of cars like that. Both of them gave the next owner flawless service. Go figure. revmaaatin.
