kl600 transmission swap, etc.

Post by afmcg1 » Tue Feb 20, 2007 12:13 am

I'm mostly a lurker here, and by no means am I trying to toot my own horn with this post, but I did a little writeup on the KL600 trans swap and some other KLR work on my website. I thought someone here might find it useful. http://www.ckmcgraw.com/afmcgraw/klr.htm . . . . . Some terms for those using the search engine: KL600 KLR600 transmission, water pump shaft failure broken, broken doohickey, melted hole airbox, stock exhaust modification, kick starter kickstarter.

garmin quest...ion

I've had a Garmin Quest for about 3 months and a garmin GPS III before that. I like them both. The Quest will hold about 100Mb of map data. This lets me get all of Wisconsin, and northern IL loaded into the GPS. These are the detailed maps. The base maps of major roads are always loaded. The autorouting feature works well. I paid about $260 delivered to my door, so I consider it a good deal for a autorouting GPS. I like the brand, so I stuck with it, so I don't know much about Magellan or the others. The Quest II has more features, but also more price. HTH Dean Wegner West Bend, WI '02 KLR650
