There it is on his web site. He should join the group! Most of us promise
not to poke fun at him or it.
I still have my Windjammer that was once on my Suzuki GT-750.

It looks like something from the Jetsons.

When did we make that promise? I think the KLR is ugly enough without that on the front end. Poke, poke. Not everyone who buys a KLR rides in the dirt. I bought mine to commute
to and from work. If I wanted a dirt bike I would have purchased a dirt
bike. They are lighter, more powerful, and easier to handle. The KLR
gets geat mileage and is dependable. Want to play in the dirt? Just buy
a freakin dirt bike. TC

Want to play in the dirt? Just buy
Want to ride a couch? buy a gold wing, Beamer, Or Roadking that is once they start making them again. The consensus here like to get their bikes dirty at least a little bit. That said the KLR is FAR from a dirt bike i.e. Motocross or Supercross. you won't be clearing the triples on a KLR. But then again you will not be riding fire trails on a GW either. Interesting. Not sure about the aluminum... But it does look like he's wrapping it without messing with the stock headlight - so the potential for quick removal is there... Right now it's 25 degrees outside and it looks like a good idea> http://www.craigvetter.com/pages/Vetter_Fairings/2007-Prototype-KLR.html > There it is on his web site. He should join the group! I'm behind him. I sure like the Tenere style, which
is no longer made I think. This is a little KTM ish
which I also like. Glad to see the master is on the
right bike, couldn't ask for more support than that.
Come up with some good crash bars too while you're at
it.

Medium and small-bore dualsports tear through the woods just as well as a dirt bike. The point of a dualsport is that you don't have to trailer it to go play in the dirt. With a large-displacement dualsport, you can travel all day at 80 mph and then keep on going when the road turns to $hit, climb a powerline to the top of a mountain and enjoy the view while eating jerky. I don't see the point in buying a $5000 thumper and then adding $3000 of crap (in addition to hokey homemade stuff) to make it more "street-worthy" so you can tour in comfort. The guys who make me roll my eyes the most are the ones who do all that and then sell the bike 6 months later, stating, "It's not what I thought it would be." Mark> Want to play in the dirt?
