relative to my getting a state mandated 10% discount on liability insurance after completing the motorcycle safety course. I have gone back and forth with them in a couple of emails and so far they have been business like in their disagreement. Today I sent them the statute and an ultimatum. I will let the list know what happens.

traveling to NY State and upper New England as often as possible. *Long story short*: when I wanted to give myself a motorcycle insurance discount last year, and go from "full coverage" to "liability only", the savings was less than half of the cost of the coverage I was dropping (hidden minimum premium?). My motorcycle insurer is Foremost. They had the lowest premium by far, for an annual policy, for me and my area, when I purchased my bike. Annual premiums: $262/'03-'04, $204/'04-'05, $301/'05-'06, $282/'06-'07 (no tickets, accidents, claims, all insurances). Shop around, another motorcycle insurer may save you a lot more than the Progressive discount. (Note: Shop around every 2 years, or whenever your premium goes up, for all your insurances. The consumer loses when they stay forever at one company and don't understand and review their coverage closely. However, the insurance companies/agents/brokers will make this unnecessarily difficult and complicated today.) Fred

To the best of my knowledge...Your main concern will be clutch spline lubrication. I'm sorry but I can't remember the schedule, I think it was every 18-20,000. Call a dealer...This is critical! The fuel pump and filter are in the tank, making it a real pain. You need lower the fuel level and take the entire gas cap assembly off so you can get one hand inside to change it out. Sounds bad...but it really isn't. If you can find someone in your area that knows what a fuel pump should sound like then have them listen to it. A few years ago it was $400 for the pump. Other than that, the rear shock is very expensive. (B...ring M...y...W...allet) That being said...I "could" ride the RS at 120mph all day. Good Luck, Tom.
