front fork klr 650

I guess it's about time to get a more comfortable saddle... I've seen listers talk about Corbin - a flat saddle and another one. I only see one variety on their website for the KLR, priced at $199. Is this the favored saddle? Jeff A15

Yes indeed, I have it and love it. MUCH longer in the saddle than with stock. It's come up before, so I have pictures posted on my KLR website taken specifically to show the no-dip Corbin. http://klr6500.tripod.com/corbin.html

The manual calls for 21psi Front, and for the Rear, up to 215# load = 21psi, 215 - 401# 28psi. Hope that helps! Wise men still seek Him... So I go to the Corbin website and all I see is that seat they show on the lt. blue KLR. Do you have to special order this "No-Dip" seat? Do they charge extra? Ed Snow 2001 KLR650 "Zoom Zoom"

Hi Ed, I didn't order from the website, although I've been there. I called the CA factory toll free number so a rep could help me make sure I got the right thing. You DO have to request the no-dip saddle, but they should have the forms, or whatever, since so many of us get that style. They DON'T charge extra for it. I paid $199 plus $17 or $18 shipping. I am seriously thinking of buying a new saddle for my '07 KLR650. The stock saddle is just too narrow for comfort on long trips. I am looking at the Corbin dished saddle, which sells for $299. I love my flat Corbin saddle for the KLR. The nice part is that you can change your riding position on long trips and are not continually crushing your "stones" as happens with the dished Corbin saddle. I have taken it one step further and have fabricated one of those wood beaded seats like taxi drivers use. It is fabulous as it keeps your bottom just slightly off the seat so that air can circulate. I no longer sweat heavily on hot summer rides as a result. Looks a little nutty but it really works and when I am on the bike you can hardly see the beaded seat cushion. BTW I bought the beaded seat at Wal-Mart for $5 as they were closing them out. Good luck Capt. Bob

I'm sure more knowledgable folks will pipe up, but to get the ball rolling: I believe Sagebrush was Jake Jakeman's company. He is unfortunatley no longer with us. RIP. I belive Sagebrush is likewise no longer. Devon Jarvis who was once a regular on the list and seems to be around lately (at least on the EFI discussion) put a set of DRZ forks on a KLR. He used to have a website up about the change, but I was unable to find it last I looked. It isn't easy. I for some reason am also under the impression that Eagle Mike may be working on triple trees that accomodate a different fork, but could be way off the mark with that. Do you happen to have a DRZ fork laying around? Have you tried the usual mods (progressives and emulators)? If you do it, take pictures and post them. -Luke --- rigtech514 wrote:
