I like it... face it folks.. the KLR is not really a dirt bike, come on.. ya I can ride it hard, but 400 lbs for fun riding ? More like well I go it.. might as well use it. Hop on a XL250 and run that baby through the gears, rides like it on a rail, smooth predictable power, nice suspension. The new KLR is a farkled KLR with some nice improvements, whats wrong with that ? Everybody cries about the brakes, the forks... KHI addressed them and a few other things, so what if you loose a few inches of travel if the new travel really works for the bike. The KLR's carburetor is pretty much a foolproof

My patched diaphragm is still working fine after 11 years. Could be that a modern head will improve mpg. But...with this emissions stuff I'll bet they add FI in the next few years; maybe a cat too. If they do it'll work better than the BMW version. Bogdan

Yeah - my guess is this is just a quick update to clean out the old parts bin before the move to FI. It'll be interesting to see how many of the 'new' parts will fit on the 'old' bike. Jim

I dunno--if they're able to meet the 2008/2010 emissions requirements without FI, why would they add it later? I don't know of any more stringent emissions requirements coming down the pike, and I don't think they'll add FI unless they're forced to.
