On my god...you're thinking.
No, I probably won't be getting one of these, but I did enquire to Scott a while ago- I noticed an old post of yours regarding it. They said that it couldn't be done on a KLR, something to do with the ignition switch and the angle of the triple clamp. Now we both now 'can't' is a dirty word when it comes to the KLR, and staring at it, I don't see why you couldn't work around it. I'll dig up the reply sometime, just thought I'd let you know.

Does anyone know if someone makes a steering damper for the KLR 650.
When I get up to speed my front end shakes. What should I do?

steering damper
First, I would check out your bike. Sounds like something is wrong.
Culprits include: worn tires, wrong tire pressures, loose steering head
bearings, loose swingarm bearings, too low rear preload, mis-aligned wheels,
worn wheel bearings, bent frame.

For a stock KLR front end, you might need to drill your own mounting
plate holes. An RM250 frame bracket fits pretty well (needs to be cut a
bit to clear a dual-star rad bar).

http://multisurfacemotorcycling.com/klrpage/carb/carb10.htm Hey Joan-- For what it's worth, if you disconnect the necessary cables and hoses and remove/loosen the hose clamps at the airbox and intake, you can usually just twise the carb out from between the two rubber tubes (airbox and intake). Be careful to not be too brute, and make sure when you put it back that you don't get filth in either tube... but removing the subframe etc is totally unecessary. As someone else said, you can also twist the thing sideways to access a lot.
