My apologies, I see you have lubed and greased. I have skipped my coffee today. I still think you should yank the cable off the bike fully then reinstall it. Good Luck CA Stu

LOL http://www.terrycable.com/ has done a good job with quality cables for me in the past. They don't list the KLR-650 in their on-line catalog, so give them a call. http://www.angelfire.com/ut/moab/index.html is the site for Arrowhead Motorsports in Moab. Fred is the owner and has been very supportive of the group. I've only had good experiences with him. THAT is rare and I would certainly recommend buying stuff from him. He's very knowledgable of KLR's. Go into the parts section, select KLR/KLX and look for the "Terminator" cable. It's a paltry ten bucks more than the stock cheese, but SO worth it that you'll be amazed. It's a truly quality piece. Lamar A14

The independent shop I like to support has a listing for '87 to 03 KLR650's which lists a clutch cable but the 04 shows a blank and nothing is listed beyond. Can anyone confirm that 04 is the same cable as the earlier? I can't recall any difference but then my memory........ Norm [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

I am pretty sure that they just need to update the listing. I can't believe that they changed the part. If you want to make sure then check the kawi parts diagrams. -- Doug Herr doug@...

Hi Norm, I got the answer for you , and believe it or not it is painless. Go up to the top of your desktop task bar, key that little job called 'favorites', run down the list till you find http://www.arrowheadmotorsports.com/ double click that, find -clutch cable- purchase, checkout, etc--you know the drill use paypal, and in the remarks, leave a note- FRED: Please place an addtional $20 on account for revmaaatin for advice and services given. Greatfully, Norm. No? Well, (shrug) I tried to be helpful. The coffee is still on...you still coming this way? revmaaatin. free capichino coffee in Central SD if you ride up on a KLR. seriously, If any of you guys are going to Sturgis next week(s), I am in central SD, right on the way.

Hi Doug, It is amazing how far a person that will go for my cappuccino coffee. I got one whiner in Austraila and one in Iraq that says they can't get a cappuccino as good as mine. IRT to a KLR at Sturgis, if you got money, you are welcome. If you are coming, I hear you should bring a wheelbarrow full. Prices are slightly elevated during bike week, or so I'm told. revmaaatin. US #14 and 47, central SD.

I wouldn't have tried it thirty years ago, but today, no problem. It's being billed as more of a "Family Event" nowadays.

So if I were to go, I wouldn't necessarily even have to bare my chest? "The times they are a-changin'" theoneandonlyhoppy wrote:
