i need klr600 cylinder-please help

Hello, I'm going to be getting my first motorcycle pretty soon and I am strongly leaning towards the KLR650. I know several people to ride them an love them and I really like the idea of having a dual purpose bike. One thing I have been worried about is the height of the bike. I'm 5'7" with a 30" inseam. So if do end up getting a KLR I've been planning on getting a lowered Corbin seat and possibly some lowering links from www.klr.com. So back to my question, is there any reason to think that the 2007 KLR won't take these mods? Dylan

No reason at all. It is absolutely identical to every KLR back to '96 or so. -E

Dylan: Have you physically examined the KLR650? I.e. sat on it, moved it around, tilted it to the side sufficiently to feel the heft of the machine. I'm not trying to discourage or make you feel intimidated but, this is a pretty big bike for a first time motorcyclist. Particularly if you can't put both feet down for stability. Once you're on the bike and it is up and running, It'll be great. You'd be wise to familiarize yourself with the machine in an area of minimal traffic and preferably with a riding buddy. All of the lowering mods you mentioned should be readily applicable to a 2007 KLR. The only thing different, looks to be the color. Be careful and good luck. IMO you are on the right track. I went with lowering links (1-1/2" links, 28" inseam) but am planning to try a lowered seat in hopes that the seat can replace the links. I prefer the way the bike handles with the links but am always on the look for improvement so want to try the seat and higher suspension setting. The stock seat isn't great for a lot of us so IMO that's the best place to start with improvement. Good luck with your investigations, Norm [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

I have found the seat beads to work wonderfully well. They make it considerably more comfortable, though they do raise you up about half an inch. I think I got mine from Whitehorse Press... John
