Sorry to bother with requests for Help, but garage has a large hunk of green plastic and
steel that will not respond to my will. Problem is bike will not start without starting fluid,
and will not stay lit unless throttle is wide open. Have been through everything I can think
of: went through balancer mech(I was hearing a noise, found doohickey spring broken,
fixed) pulled head and valves are seating OK, spark is fine, diaphragm in carb is fine, fuel
valve diaphragm is OK....thinking that it may be a idle jet problem, but am really running
out of clues..
Anyone who has an idea please let me know, I am itching to hear the sweet tweet again..
thanks so much..

Don't know if this is the problem, but when my bike run fine, then next time I tryed to start it, it would,'t. Pulled my hair out, checked everything... The valves were to tight, check clearance. Hope that helps. GM> > thanks so much.. >

help with klr quandary..
Hi
Just as an observer who hasn't suffered through it
my first guess would be a carburetor problem.
it has different jets for different throttle openings...
the clymer manual is pretty detailed about it -
i'd take the carburetor off and taking apart and clean it thoroughly, etc.
maybe some of the jets are clogged?
best of luck! - i'm in a similar rut over a bunch of stripped bolts due to a
badly calibrated
torque wrench. dammit!!!

help with klr quandary..
You problem is very characteristic of too much air, probably a vacuum
leak.
Is the carb seated properly? Is the air cleaner on? Did you hook up
the two hoses from the petcock backwards?

Please expand with details as to when the problem occurred, what you did
prior to the problem, what you have done since, etc.

I hope this is not considered bad form, but I believe many will be
interested in this. Some time ago I purchased Jay's instructional
video about adjusting valves ans changing tires. I have studied it and
am now ready to pass it on. To do that I have begun an eBay auction,
with a starting bid of only $9.99. The link is:
