I'm thinking about highway pegs to relieve the kink I get in my knees on the long rides. I'd be interested in the groups' thoughts on highway pegs in general as well as which ones to use, where to get them, etc. As always your advice would be greatly appreciated.

I never cared for the highway pegs, having used them on maybe 5 occasions on cross-country trips. The No Peg solution: Enroute leg stretches, leg isometrics, vary position of the foot from the ball to the heel, ride spreadeagled, articulate your feet, etc. Drinking lots of water makes a huge difference in comfort, and some people take aspirin. Also, installation means that if you like having a PVC tool tube in front of the bash plate, you'll need to reduce the diameter from 4" to 3", otherwise the front wheel will drag the storage tube when the front end is compressed. I just threw some together using bicycle handlebars with two 90deg bend pieces of steel, held together with hoseclamps and self tapping screws for rigidity. One trip to the hardware store for a longer motor mount bolt. Rode 800 miles in two days and used the highway bars most of the time. The bend in the bicycle handlebars did not allow my legs to fully extend. NEVER EVER had I felt so good in the saddle for so long. even with my dipped corbin. Moving all around the saddle and my favorite; standing up at 60mph (good breezy airflow ,better than baby powder) is the key to comfort. IMHO
