amc-400 carrier
I am considering a KLR650 and wonder if anyone has
experience with transporting one on a hitch mounted
carrier. The AMC-400 is an aluminum hitch mounted
carrier supporting up to 400lbs. I'm not so much
concerned about the weight the carrier supports as I
am the bike fitting on the carrier and the effect on
my '99 Ford Expedition.
Thanks

I suspect the 400 pound weight will be ok, just think of it as a 400 pound
tongue weight for a trailer.
My concern is the one point for mounting. I see far too much twist on the
single mount point at the hitch.
I was thinking about this a few weeks ago. I was thinking about a hitch
that instead of one central point like a current trailer hitch, how about a
hitch that has two mounting points, perhaps about 2 feet apart.

cylinder head
Hi,
I'm new to this list and have a question regarding replacement of the
cylinder head.
My klr 600 from 1984 have a bad exhaust camshaft, bearing and cup.
My question to the list is: Does a klr 650 cylinder head fit on this
engine? Or do I have to find a 600 head?
Tanks to all of you that makes this list the best.
Regards
Mats

Shop around. I'm pretty sure I saw a mounting system like this with a couple of stabilizer supports at each end. JC Whitney has a model in either steel or alum. - not sure if it has the stabilizers though.
