Hi Gang, I looked at some First Gear Kilimanjaro (sp?) jackets and they looked pretty good to me. They seem to fit my 6'-6" frame OK and weren't too expensive. Does anyone know where can I find a web site for these jackets? Where are the best prices? Jim

my first jacket was a ballistic and it was traded in twice when i saw the stitching coming undone the first week i had it. i gave up and got a first gear one (not sure what its called i dont see it listed on their website and it didnt say on the jacket) which i bought from the kawi dealer for 180$ with removable body armour reflective piping WATERPROOF (tested that one) and so far pretty solid only thing is it feels a little strange in the back with the lining removed and the back armout still inplace but nothing you really notice after a while. the only down side ive found so far is lack of pockets it does have quite a few but they are not easy to get to (not i would reccomend trying while riding at least) well just my 2 cents :P paul A16

I really like my Joe Rocket Ballistic jacket.. It was $109.00 plus shipping off of e-bay. Have not tried it in the winter, but it does have a nice liner. HtH, Denis

For the money, the First Gear Kilimanjaro is a great value for colder/wet weather riding. I really like http://www.newenough.com/ a LOT as an online vendor. They aren't always the cheapest, but very close, and their service is fantastic.

Try Google and type in "distount motorcycle jackets". You'll find more references than you can search. For the most part 25% or so off list is about average. You can even get some pretty good deals at your local dealer. I use a Joe Rocket Metior II year-round. It works fine even in freezing weather with the liner in. I paid $149 (25% off) at my local Honda dealer.

For me the First Gear Kilimanjare AIR (and HT AIR pants) have been a great choice here in Southern California. I use it year round, temperatures ranging from 100+ degrees in summer to 20 degrees in Death Valley in January (with the liner and supplimented with fleece and an electric vest). The liner that comes with it is insulated and waterproof and has worked well for me in day long rides in the rain. The little rubber dodads that cover the snaps etc, could be a little nicer, but over all I am very satisfied. They are also one of the few outfits that has 2XLT sizes. I'm 6'7" 260 lbs. Check out www.motorcycle-superstore.com when you get ready to buy. Good selection and their prices are competitive. -----Original Message----- From: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com [mailto:DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of Randall Marbach Sent: Wednesday, August 24, 2005 1:31 PM To: KLR Group Subject: Re: [DSN_KLR650] Jackets --- Chris wrote:

I'm looking for information on a new jacket. I have it narrowed down to a Firstgear Crossmoto or a Kilimanjaro ll, does anyone use one of these or have any info they would like to share. TIA. Scott
