06ZX0517X Shock Absorbing Chromed Mirror Mount, fits both right and left sides on all Honda, Kawasaki and Suzuki motorcycles with 10mm thread, fits left side only on Yamaha Each 3.99 They help some. The rubber shock absorbing part is so soft that the buzz of the stock setup is replaced by a clearer image in a mirror that sort of flops around a little. Also easy to twist the inner metal piece right out of the outer. I only have one now :-). This might be an advantage if you drop the bike and it twists out instead of the next weakest link breaking - the switch assembly the mirrors or these mounts screw into. Kaw sells that as an assembly - $90 for the left hand one. I mean to try the Honda mirrors someday. If I do that, I can also experiment with my stockers. Long ago, someone on the list wrote about cutting the stalk of the stock mirror and putting it back together with surgical tubing and a small gap, to make a vibration free and crash resistant item. Yeti ************************************************* I had the same problem when I got my new KLR. For some reason, after about 400 miles the vibration seemed to slack off. Now, evey once in a while, I actually think I see something in the mirrors. Maybe because some of the looser parts have fallen off. Seriously, if you'll hold off a couple of weeks, I'm prototyping new handlebar vibration dampers that I'll send you free if you'll respond with a straight evaluation after a few hundred miles of use. Yeah I used them. Took out about half the vibration, which means I could see out of the mirrors. Kind of loose tho as they would flex a bit especially in the wind. The rubber inside broke free after a number of twisting motions as I would adjust them, prolly would have lasted longer if I had used both hands while adjusting but hard to do while riding, eh? Anti-vibration mirror mounts don't work as well as covering your mirror with a wide-angle mirror. I did this on my bike & it eliminates vibration blurring. I stumbled on this because I had a small wide angle mounted on my normal flat mirror. I could see using the small wide-angle mirror but the flat mirror was a total blur. I've now totally covered my mirrors with stick on wide angles & don't need anti-vibration mounts.

There are a couple of different ones on ebay - I've got the less expensive of the two, and they work fine - around $10. Ride safe, Don Kime - VFR750F, GL1500SE, GL1100, KLR 650 OH - M/C Safety Instructor/RiderCoach dkime@... http://forums.delphiforums.com/MCTourer/

J.C. Whitney motorcycle catalog. My mirrors went from useless, to useful. Butch A 16 [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
