Many, many, many times. A few like: http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm A few like to follow the book. A few add some simple additional notes to following the manual. Stuff like taking it up and down thru the allowed range and some stuff I don't remember about how long it is run for, so that it either does or does not stay hot for some period of time. I am sure somebody will chime in on all that. -- Doug Herr doug@...

36k mi so far. Never 'broken' down, had to replace the main fuse oncet. Rode on down into Mexico and the Copper Canyon, rode Moab twice with the last route that was a 6400 mile trip two summers ago, including: Lolo Pass ID/MT, Bitteroot, Teton's, Flaming Gorge WY, Moab UT, Mesa Verde, Chaco Canyon, Los Alamos, Carlsbad Caverns, El Paso when it was 112 deg F, Phoenix, Las Vegas and home to the Puget Sound in WA state. Rode the bike usually 6-70 mph with some days at 70-75 all day long. Takes a lickin' and still keeps tickin' Dan P, '00 KLR650, Thumpin' in Tallahassee

I agree totally with Motoman, I rode mine like I stole it. I have done that with several of my bikes. It always worked good for me... The ones I followed the instructions always had some sort of problems... But there are many who won't share my view.. So I usually keep quiet.. --- Doug Herr wrote:
